Road Hog Rules

This class is for those persons wanting to begin racing and for those who do not want to spend a lot of money. All drivers and cars MUST meet the general rules.

COMPETING MODELS
• Any American made passenger cars meeting these specifications – NO TOLERANCE!!
• Frames may be repaired or replaced with the exact duplicate parts ONLY!
• El Caminos and Rancheros are OK.
• Full Frame cars must have a 108” minimum wheel base.
• No Unibody or leaf springs cars allowed.

ENGINE
• Engine must be stock. Engine may be 6 or 8 cylinder. Engine may be inter-changed within manufacturer’s line only.
• Hydraulic or solid lift cams only.
• Cast iron intakes only.
• Heads must be manufactured stamped. No after market, aluminum, or vortex heads.
• Only one 2 or 4 barrel carburetors allowed. NO DUEL LINES OR DOUBLE PUMPERS. Holley or Edelbrock carburetors allowed.
• Adapting spacer allowed for carburetor.
• Ignitions must be OEM, NO MSD OR MAGS ALLOWED.
• Cast iron exhaust manifolds only. No headers allowed.
• No roller rocker arms allowed.

ENGINE CLAIMING
Engine claim is $300 plus exchange of engine. Additional charge of $50 to wrecker driver for pulling engines. Claim does not include carburetor, motor mounts, sending units or switches. Driver making claim must have taken the checkered flag on the lead lap in the feature race. Driver must immediately pull to the infield with cash in hand, and notify the tech man or the track steward. The car being claimed and the ca claiming will remain in the infield until after the race program is complete. At this time, the engines will be pulled and exchanged. The drivers may not stay in the car. Only the winning car of the feature can be claimed. Any driver refusing a claim forfeits all points and winnings for the night. Any driver refusing a second claim will not be allowed to race for the next two races. Any driver refusing a third claim will be out for the year. Drivers may only claim 2 engines per season. Only the two drivers and race officials are allowed in the claim area.

TIRES AND WHEELS
• Street tires only. Maximum size P235x75, 70x15. No grooving of tires allowed.
• May use 8” maximum racing type or stock wheels. NO BEAD LOCKS.
• 1” lug nuts must be used.

SUSPENSION
• Suspension will remain stock.
• Racing shocks and springs allowed in stock location only.
• No weight jacks or adjustable suspension allowed

TRANSMISSION AND REAR END
•Automatic transmission ONLY. Must have a working torque converter. NO DIRECT DRIVES.
•Rear end must be stock for make of car. May lock rear end and change gears. No Ford 9” rear ends, unless running a Ford manufactured car. No floater rear ends allowed.

BODY AND BUMPERS
• All interior cloth and seats must be removed.
• All glass must be removed from car.
• Windshield opening must have heavy screen and small bars to protect driver from falling debris.
• All bracing must be behind sheet metal and bumpers. NO OUTSIDE BARS ALLOWED.
• All doors must be welded, bolted or chained shut.
• Must have hood pins to keep hood shut. Mount these pins well.
• Fenders may be neatly trimmed for tire clearance only. Front inner fender may be removed.
• Both doors may be gutted for roll bar clearance only. Gutting can only be done in the front doors and the front fenders.
• Must have a complete firewall between driver and engine compartment AND another complete firewall between driver and fuel compartment. Both firewalls MUST be completely sealed with no holes in them.
• All bumpers (especially shock type) MUST be welded to prevent loss.
• All four bumper ends must have a flat strap mounted to the body to prevent other cars from hooking them.
• No spoilers allowed.
• MUST HAVE OEM SHEET METAL. NO ALUMINUM OR STEEL FABRICATED BODIES.
